Top Competition & Limburg Championships BMX
Who will be the Limburg BMX champions?
We will know on April 12. That's when the Zolder heat of the National Top Competition will take place and the first Limburgers in those races will be crowned Limburg champions. “Name title contenders? I won't venture into that, there will be several champions. All age categories will be in action, From 5 years to cruisers older than 30 years. The Limburg championship is an incentive for Limburg riders to participate,” said Marc Wauters, Cycling Manager at Circuit Zolder.
By the way, it is the last race on the Lotto BMX track before it will be renewed. In terms of spectators, this race does not reach the numbers of the European Championships or World Championships that Zolder regularly hosts. But a Top Competition race attracts an average of 750 active participants per weekend. Because BMX is a family sport, this often translates to an audience of 1,500 to 2,500 visitors - including attendants - per event.
The Top Competition remains a core part of the national BMX season. The scheduled heats for the Belgian Top Competition in 2026 are:
March 29: Ranst
April 12: Zolder
May 10: Blegny
Sept. 20: Wachtebeke
Oct. 4: Ostend
