Circuit Zolder and cycling, they go hand in hand…

…on one handlebar. Two world champions on the road were crowned: Harm Ottenbros and Mario Cipollini.
In 1979, 2002 and 2016, the Cyclo-cross World Championships were held on and around the circuit.

The Lotto BMX Track at Circuit Zolder has been one of the best in the world since 2008 thanks to a strong BMX club! Every year, two rounds of the BMX European Cup take place. In 2015 and 2019, BMX Zolder hosted the UCI BMX World Championships.

The Velodroom in Heusden-Zolder, which officially opened in October 2023, offers a wide range of new possibilities. With the facilities of this modern cycling track, international competitions can now be organised, which will further put Heusden-Zolder on the map as an important sporting centre. This new cycling complex not only offers opportunities for professional cyclists, but also for amateurs and local sporting events.

World class cycling track

In October 2023, Heusden-Zolder moved up a few gears.
The new cycling track, in full 'Sports Flanders Heusden-Zolder Velodrome Limburg' ,
meets UCI standards and will be the scene of major championships
such as European and World Championships. Starting with the 2025 European Track Cycling Championships.

The Velodroom is the ideal training centre for professional track cyclists and a training centre for young talents. But recreational cyclists, with or without disabilities, can enjoy the infrastructure on a daily basis.
At top events there is room in the stands for 2000 spectators.
